Nature and Wildlife

95% of Egypt is covered with deserts. The rest of the territory is located in the delta and the Nile Valley. Due to the peculiarities of climatic conditions, the flora is not diverse. There are more than 1000 species of plants. The Nile Valley is occupied by agricultural vegetation. You can find papyrus and date palms. Oleanders and fig trees also grow. The cultivated vegetation mainly consists of cotton, grain, sycamore and acacia trees. Banana trees and vines grow in the oases. The lotus is found in southern Egypt.
