Port Aventura
Port Aventura is a complex of amusement parks and a European resort in Spain. It is located in the Tarragona region, near Salou, about an hour's drive south of Barcelona. The amusement park ranks sixth in Europe. More than 3 million tourists come here every year.
Description
In the largest European resort there is a huge entertainment complex, opened in 1995 and consisting of 6 zones:
- Mediterranean;
- Wild West;
- Mexico;
- China;
- Polynesia;
- Sesame Street
The park features 40 different attractions, their number increases every year, and up to 90 theatrical performances take place per day.
Mediterranean
When entering Port Aventura, you immediately felt the romantic, cozy charm of a Catalan fishing town - this is how the Mediterranean zone greets you. The path leads straight to Port de la Drassana, where you can board a boat and sail around the port of Aventura.
The variety of souvenirs in the shops makes your eyes wide open. There are many cafes and restaurants in the area. The main attraction is Furius Baco, a roller coaster. They were installed in 2007. The speed reaches 135 km/h in 3.5 seconds. The attraction is the fastest in Europe.
Wild West
This area of Port Aventura has a cowboy atmosphere, supported by traditional American scenery and music. In the stylized saloon, visitors feel like real cowboys; to complete the experience, you can shoot at the shooting range.
After the Silver River Flume attraction, satisfied vacationers come out completely wet. They had just rafted on “logs” down a fast river. Near the Stampida and Tomahawk attractions it is usually very noisy, especially when the train cars moving on wooden rails take another sharp turn. You can swim along a fast mountain river not on logs, but on a balloon, on the Grand Canyon Rapids attraction.
Mexico
Accompanied by fiery Mexican music, visitors carefully examine the “ancient ruins” and the “Mayan pyramid”, and, of course, agaves. In the Port Aventura area there is one of the world's most extreme and highest attractions - "Hurakan Condor", a free fall from a 100-meter tower.
Very interesting and spectacular - “temple of fire”. Visitors walk through the maze, accompanied by various effects. Some of them cause genuine fear. For example, a falling ceiling or a floor opening up under your feet. A bright, memorable fire show awaits in the center of the labyrinth
China
The bright scenery of a typical Chinatown immediately immerses you in the atmosphere of ancient China. But the most interesting thing is the Shambhala attraction. Roller coaster with a height of 78 meters! Three trains each carry 32 passengers and reach speeds of up to 135 km/h. This is one of the newest attractions. It was staged in 2012, and in the first 3 days 15 thousand people who wanted to get a thrill experienced it.
The Dragon Khan attraction on the territory of Port Aventura has been installed since its opening - since 1995, the type is a roller coaster, but with Chinese motifs. Turns, flips, ups and downs, 8 loops and speeds up to 110 km/h. From the very beginning and until now, the interest of visitors to it has not waned.
Polynesia
The smallest area on the territory of Port Aventura is bright, exotic, decorated with amazing plants. The sound of drums is constantly heard here, and theatrical performances are held. Several cafes offer traditional Polynesian cuisine.
Among the zone's attractions, the most interesting is the "Sea Odyssey". This is an imitation of underwater diving in a bathyscaphe with an interesting plot. First, the guide is a dolphin, telling tourists who have come on an excursion to the scientific laboratory about the latest discoveries related to the study of the oceans. Then suddenly a distress signal arrives, and the tourists set off to rescue the submarine.
Sesame Street
A new zone, which began operating in 2011. It is also intended for very young vacationers. There are more than 11 attractions for them. Characters from the series walk around the territory, with whom you can take pictures.
Port Aventura, in addition to attractions in thematic areas, has a huge water park called PortAventura Aquatic, golf courses and even a lake occupying 3 hectares. For the convenience of vacationers, there are 4 hotels in the park.
