Sable Island

Sable Island is located near the Canadian city of Halifax. It is here that the hot Gulf Stream intersects with the icy currents of the Labrador waters. This area is considered mysterious, even the most fearless captains are afraid of it. It cannot be compared with the Bermuda Triangle, but this zone is one of the famous anomalous territories all over the world.

Sable Island

Scientists have long been interested in this island, which has a bad reputation, and in local taverns you can hear the stories of sailors that excite human blood. Seafarers never call this island by its name, but prefer their own folk names, which, in their opinion, are more suitable, including "tomb of the Atlantic", "shipwreck island".

Experts who study this area have found out that Sable Island grows in length by about 200 meters annually, without changing its structure. Scientists claim that the part of the island, which is located in the west, is constantly being eroded by a very strong current. But the opposite shore, on the contrary, is constantly filled with hills of sand, which, it is not clear how, are formed. All these facts are very curious and do not lend themselves to any laws of nature, which misleads scientists.

Sable Island

The weather here is nasty all year round, which is accompanied by prolonged fogs and cold rains. This island has the lowest altitude above sea level, as well as very treacherous reefs. Also a big nuisance is the property of chalk and reefs to disguise themselves as the color of the water. All of the above causes difficulties in controlling the ship, of which not a small number have suffered near Sable Island. Hence, the picture becomes clearer why such terrible stories about this area have been heard among sailors, who have been trying to avoid it for centuries.

But there is one month of the year when the weather on the Sable skeleton becomes favorable. It is in July that the ocean subsides, and the area becomes accessible to boat landings. But, of course, there are not many people who want to visit the lands of Sable Island.

The sands of the island hold many secrets that are associated with the death of various marine transport, the remnants of which are forever buried by this cursed land. One can only guess at the number of tragedies that have occurred on Sable Island over the centuries.

In order to somehow secure the ships' path, the Canadian leadership installed a weather station with a very strong radio beacon on the island in the twentieth century. To ensure the work of which, a team of twenty people lived here. However, later this station had to be switched to automatic maintenance, as workers very often damaged their body parts, bumping into various remnants. The psyche of the people who lived here also suffered, who claim that the ghosts of the dead roam Sable Island at night and ask for rescue.

If you decide to try Sable Island, then first, think carefully, and, of course, stock up on all the necessary equipment for such an unusual fearless journey.
