Catalunya en Miniatura
Catalonia in Miniature is an open–air museum, which is a park with mini-replicas of Catalonia's attractions. This is a scaled-down copy of Catalonia, where 150 of its architectural structures are presented with detailed details. All the most interesting and best things in the region are collected here, only in a reduced form. Its area is about 25,000 m2.
Visitors can view the whole of Catalonia from a height of human height and get acquainted with all its sights. The park can also be viewed from the outside, with a small tourist train running around its perimeter. There is a statue of Gulliver in front of the entrance to the park, which makes you feel like a giant in the land of midgets from the very first minutes of visiting.
All the layouts in miniature Catalonia are not arranged in any random order, but exactly as they actually are relative to each other. Along with the attractions, the park is equipped with trees and flowers that create the illusion of a park and a forest.
The expositions are equipped with buttons with which visitors can animate some scenes and see how airplanes make noise, various vehicles drive, skiers descend from the mountains, how a fire is lit, and fire trucks quickly extinguish it. The culture, folklore and customs of the people are demonstrated here. The park has ancient castles and churches, historical buildings, various bridges, roads, stadiums, airports, highways, and its own Mediterranean Sea.
Antonio Gaudi's masterpieces are reproduced here, such as Park Guell, Dom Batllo, Sagrada Familia, Dom Mila, famous for the absence of angles and lines, in total more than ten of his works. All the proportions of the exposures are kept in the ratio of one to twenty-five. The houses here are built to the waist, and some structures are knee-deep.
Outdoor enthusiasts will love the "Living Forest" zone, which contains adventure routes of various levels of difficulty – the dwarf route, the fairy route – these are hanging bridges on which you can climb between the trees. Here you can not only play Mowgli, but also explore the entire park from a bird's-eye view.
