Rosa Khutor
Rosa Khutor is one of the largest ski resorts in Russia, located in the village of Krasnaya Polyana. In 2014, the Winter Olympic Games were held here.
The resort is located 40 kilometers from Adler and covers almost 2,000 hectares of slopes of the Aibga ridge. The elevation difference in Rosa Khutor ranges from 575 to 2509 meters above sea level. There are more than 70 km of trails for ski enthusiasts, among which both beginners and avid athletes will find suitable for themselves. Thanks to 18 lifts capable of serving up to 10,000 people daily, you can easily climb to any peak. Although Sochi has a subtropical humid climate, this does not interfere with ski holidays, because due to artificial snowmaking of the slopes, the duration of the ski season on high-altitude trails is almost six months.
Bernard Roussy, a former Olympic champion in downhill skiing, was involved in the design of the ski trails. On the northern slope of the Aibga ridge there is a 20 km long complex of trails designed for slalom, giant slalom, and downhill competitions. In addition, Rosa Khutor has an Extreme park for snowboarding and freestyle skiing.
For the convenience of tourists, ski equipment rental points and an ice rink are located at the very bottom of the cable car. Beginners can consult the instructor service about where to ride. Above the 1170-meter mark, trails with lifts begin.
You can relax in Rosa Khutor at any time. In summer, hiking trails open along the picturesque mountain slopes: Panorama, Magical Forest, Lake Path, Protected Gorge. Those who like cycling can rent a bike and go to specially equipped trails: X-Traverse, Rosa Downhill, B-One. You can test your skill and courage at the Panda Park rope complex, where 3 routes are laid out of ropes at a height of 23 meters.
By the way, filming of one of the scenes of Leonid Gaidai's comedy "The Caucasian Captive" took place here by the Mzymta River.
