The Agarmysh Forest is a complex natural monument of national importance located in the Crimean Mountains in the Kirovsky district of Crimea. The Agarmysh forest was declared a natural monument in October 1975. It has been a nature reserve since 1964, with an amazing collection of vegetation and relict trees. Agarmysh forest means "Gray forest" in the Turkic language. Fogs can often be observed in the mountain valley. In cold weather, the vegetation of the foothills is covered with frost, hence the name of the forest, from the gray coating on the plants. The protected area belongs to the upper reaches of the Sychevaya Balka gorge. The forest area is 40 hectares. The forest area has come under state protection due to the cutting down of valuable tree species and mining operations. There are many springs in the protected area, and in some places there are destroyed fragments of a medieval water pipeline that supplied ancient settlements.

There are various types of oak in the forest area. The majority of trees are rocky, preferring a gravelly soil structure and a beautiful seaside climate. Hazel or wild hazel grows to a height of up to 8 meters. The shrub tree contains a large amount of tannins and essential oils. Hazelnut is used in cosmetology and alternative medicine. Wood is used in the manufacture of furniture. Diverse vegetation is observed on the territory of the Sychev gulch and the Volchiy Yar tract. In the forest, you can see thickets of hawthorn, dogwood, linden trees, and ash trees.

Locals claim that the border of two worlds is located here. One of the legends tells about a dungeon in which the river of Summer flows from the realm of the dead. Only a hardworking and purposeful person is not afraid of the Lethi mists. The real thing is that the filming of the films "The Ninth Company" and "Inhabited Island" took place here. The Agarmysh forest can be visited independently, without a guide. It is strictly forbidden to make bonfires, break trees, that is, to violate simple safety regulations - violators face a huge fine.
