Galapagos: how to observe animals and not disturb them
On the Galapagos Islands, animals are found on the shore, in dry thickets and in the sea. In order for such a meeting to remain safe for the inhabitants of the islands, it is important to know the rules of a particular place in advance and maintain distance.

Why islands are special
The archipelago's isolation and natural processes have contributed to the emergence of unusual animals, including giant tortoises and marine iguanas. The islands and surrounding marine environment are protected; UNESCO also notes the threat of alien species.

What you can notice
See how animals use their environment: iguanas rest on volcanic rocks and turtles move on land. The species that can be seen vary by island, route and season. Wildlife encounters cannot be guaranteed.
Rules for a careful trip
Before your trip, check the current national park regulations, permitted routes and escort requirements. Do not feed or touch animals, do not leave the trails and maintain the indicated distances. Clean shoes and items according to local instructions to avoid transferring seeds and other organisms.
