Bozhentsite

History

The history of the origin and names of the village of Bozhentsite is associated with the battle of Bozhana, who moved to these places with children and relatives during the attack of the Turks. Following her, after some time, the rich population of the city of Tyrnovo moved.

New settlers turned out to be hardworking and skilled people. They knew various crafts, bred bees, and eventually began to engage in trade. We went far to trade, even got to Russian cities. They sold their goods there, transported grain and other edible supplies in Bozhenzite ( in mountainous terrain, agriculture almost did not bear fruit ). Trade was going well, the village was considered rich even by city standards. The houses were built by stone two-story, kept a lot of livestock.
