Finland is located in Northern Europe and is considered one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world: more than 5.5 million people live on an area of more than 338 thousand square kilometers. There are 2 official languages here: Finnish and Swedish, but not everyone speaks English.
The climate is temperate, and outdoor recreation is popular at any time of the year. Most tourists can be found from May to August, the warmest (not the hottest) month is considered to be July. You can walk through museums, explore historical sites, go hiking, camping, fishing, canoeing and kayaking. A large crowd of people can be seen in winter in the Village of Santa Claus. The Aurora Borealis in Lapland is observed from September to March. In the cold season, you can ski or snowboard, but there are no extreme descents with height differences in resorts.
