Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

Pallas-Yllästunturi - Finland National Park, spread over 1020 km2. The park is located in the fabulous province of Lapland and, due to the beauty of its nature, is the most visited park in the country. Over the year, more than 300,000 people visit him.

Officially, the park appeared only in 2005, when the national parks Yullyas-Aakenus and Pallas-Ounastunturi were combined. Pallas Yullastunturi includes several ecosystems. Almost the entire territory of the park is occupied by a huge forest, consisting mainly of pines and spruce. South to north passes mountain range, almost 100 kilometers long. The highest point of the ridge is Pallastunturi Hill, 807 meters high. During the Olympic Games, they ran with Olympic fire. On the occasion of this event, a memorial sign was erected here. In total, there are 7 famous hills in the ridge, on which you can find rare plants.

There is only one large lake in the park - Pallasjarvi, but there are also many wetlands that have chosen animals that feed on insects. At the swamps, clover, orchids, osoka, shakyceria grow. The local forests consist of alder, spruce, poplar, pine, willow and birch. From October to May, the park is covered in snow.

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

In Pallas Yullastunturi Park, 150 species of birds live and only a few remain for wintering, such as partridges and clusters. With the advent of spring, eels, pans, black grouse begin to nest in the Arctic zones, you can also see sapsans, soy, gorichvostok, flyers, snowmills, kroonshnepov, raspberries, and darts. The bird of the cannon is a symbol of the park. Of the major predators, it is worth noting the bears and trotters, sometimes wolves are brought here. Of the large herbivores, there are many moose and deer.

To the south of the national park is the second largest ski resort in Finland - Yullyas. The resort is located on 719 meter hill and includes 61 ski routes. The season here usually lasts from October to June. From entertainment, snowmobile safari and dog sledding, cycling, fishing are presented. In Pallas Yullastunturi Park, 350 km of routes for skiers and hiking are laid for guests, depending on the season.
