Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest – is a colossal beer festival, which is the largest in the world. It is celebrated annually in the middle of September in the capital of Bavaria – Munich. Oktoberfest is fun and exciting, and lasts as long as 16 days.

The history of the beer festival began back in 1810, when all city dwellers received an invitation to the very important event – the marriage of the country's heir Ludwig I with Princess Teresa of Saxon. All guests were gathered on a huge lawn, which was outside the city, which after this event was called - Lug Teresa, and treated them to beer, and also showed horse-drawn distillation. The celebration was so liked by both the Munich and the king himself that he issued an order to hold such an event every year.

With each subsequent year, Oktoberfest gained more and more scope. Gradually, more and more new events were added to it, such as: a holiday of farmers, which contained a show of the most beautiful breeds of horses and horses, the opening of entertainment attractions, the installation of beer shops, as well as the famous roasting of chickens.

Since that time, the beer festival was held every year, interrupted only at the time of two world wars. In 2013, 180 Oktoberfest celebrations took place here.

The opening of the Oktoberfest festival, which takes place at exactly noon on the very first day of the celebration, is quite exciting. And it all starts quite simply and logically – the opening by the mayor of the city of a barrel of beer. With this action of the head of state, a beer marathon begins. On all the central streets at this time, festive columns are moving, headed by the so-called « Munchner Kindi », which is a young rider with a small bell in his hand on an elegant horse. She rushes in the image of a nun, in yellow-black clothes. Holiday government carriages are drawn next to the girl-mona, headed by the mayor. They are accompanied by large elegant beer cords that collected beer from various German regions. They are also followed by various performances, which include columns of artists and athletes. Fascinating scenes, dances and many talents of the German people are demonstrated along the way.

With Siegestor and to the Meadow of Teresa himself, where the main celebration is held, a very beautiful costume procession in the traditional style moves. She was recognized as the most organized historically important column of the whole world.

The not unimportant tradition of Oktoberfest is the huge beer tents that are nicknamed among the people with tents. Every year they are built here exactly 14 pieces. Since the Germans prefer to drink this drink while sitting, these tents accommodate huge long tables and seats. The largest tent is designed for somewhere for 11,000 people. But it should be noted that each tent has its own name and its own traditions. Some tents were loved by noisy students, while others prefer to visit their families.

During the celebration of the festival, beer is sold not only in tents, but also in numerous stalls that open specifically for the holidays.

Beer is served according to ancient traditions in liter mugs, which are presented by waitresses dressed in beautiful ancient costumes. You can envy the stamina of these women at such a time, because they easily bring at least three liter cups, or even more, beer.

This drink, of course, is intended for adults, but children also love this festival, because these days you can have fun on various attractions, eat ice cream, and other sweets.

For all the time of Oktoberfest, a simply unrealistic amount of the main drink, which is beer, is drunk. It is estimated that in 16 days of the festival approximately 7 million liters of beer are taken, and just tons of fried chickens and sausages are eaten.

Oktoberfest is very popular in foreign guests, who are gathering these days by about 7 million people. This unrealistically large-scale holiday is in the Guiness Book of Records, for its enormous scope.
