The Margaret Hunt Hill Steel Bridge was designed by Spanish architect, sculptor and engineer Santiago Calatrava as part of a project to improve the Trinity River. It was the first bridge of a well-known specialist in the United States. He also worked on the project to launch the Margaret McDermott Bridge, built in 2017.
