Durmitor National Park
Durmitor is a national park in Montenegro. Mount Bobotov Cook is the highest point of the mountain range - 2522 meters. The array is framed by the deep and narrow canyons of the rivers Tara, Piva, Komarnitsa, Sushitsa. The National Park is a flat hill. The park covers an area of 390 km2, which was declared a reserve in 1952. On the territory of the park there are 18 glacial lakes, 48 mountains with elevations of more than 2000 meters.
In the center of Durmitor National Park, the resort town of Zablak was founded, which is the highest mountain on the Balkans ( 1465 m ). A toad for relaxation, stress relief is good at any time of the year. In the ski season, you can have a great time on the ski slopes, at other times you can go mountain climbing, explore local caves and lakes, take a walk along hiking trails. Tara Canyon is good for mountain river alloy lovers who can use the services of experienced instructors. On the edge of the city is an amazing Black Lake - the largest of 18 lakes. Around the lake there are hiking trails. Walking around the park is worth visiting the ruins of the ancient city of Sokol, located on a hill of 400 meters near the confluence of the Tara and Piva rivers.
On Mount Oba, the Head at an altitude of 2100 meters above is the Ice Cave. The Durmitor array is very rich in streams and karst formations and caves with stalactites and stalagmites, of which there are a great many. In the canyon of the Tara River, a huge number of waterfalls - more than 40. On the river there is a bridge 154 meters long and 135 meters high is its symbol, which is a symbol of the river.
From the plant world in the Durmitor package, mostly coniferous species, as well as as aspines, birch trees, maples, vilage, ash, linden. On the Tara River, there is a nature reserve of Tsrna Poda, where rare four hundred-year-old black pine trees grow. One and a half thousand plant species, a large number of medicinal plants, as well as mushrooms, grow. Approximately 300 representatives of the local fauna are protected, mainly insects, some of which are very ancient, or live only in this area. In the forests you can meet goats, deer, wolves hunting them, hares, martens, foxes. More than 130 species of birds found shelter on Durmitor, such as: black grouse, eagle, partridge, hawk. Such a diversity of the animal world did not go unnoticed among hunters. In the park, unlike many places, you can hunt foxes, wolves, wild boars, roe deer, bears and black grouse. A large amount of trout floats in the rivers.
Durmitor is often compared with Olympus, given the proximity to Greece, it is quite possible that the ancient Greeks spoke about this place.
