Andre Heller Garden
Andre Heller's Garden is a colorful garden that belongs to Italy. It is a real decoration of the city of Gardone Riviera, which is located in the province of Lombardy. The Andre Heller Botanical Garden is also known by its second name, which sounds like the Arturo Grushka Garden.
Around 1901, this area was noticed by a famous dentist of Czech roots, Artur Grushka. Here he bought himself a house with a small adjoining land around. Grushka immediately noticed the local climate, which has a very beneficial effect on plants. In 1910, he planted at least 500 species of plants imported from other countries on his estate, which was about 1.5 hectares.
In 1988, the beautiful sprawling garden was bought by the famous artist Andre Heller, whose homeland is Austria. Since that time, the botanical garden has acquired a new name, which it is still called today. The Austrian artist actively began to refine his property with a variety of plant collections. He also has charming sculptures by famous artists here.
The Andre Heller Botanical Garden has an atmosphere of harmony, which is created by charming landscapes of nature, filled with ancient art, as well as modern works.
The gates of the Andre Heller Botanical Garden are always waiting for guests. After passing through them, visitors simply plunge into the blooming magical world of nature. A beautiful path that stretches from the entrance itself leads to the bamboo bridge. The local hills are covered with groves of Canary dracaena, bamboo, and large-leaved ferns. Andre Heller's garden is also famous for its variety of blooming orchids and edelweiss. Streams with crystal water are also a real decoration of the area. There are small ponds here, filled with snow-white water lilies. There are fish in local reservoirs that you can watch from the shores.
A small garden house looks amazing among the bamboo thickets, which has a wonderful painting by a talented artist. The real surprise is the elephant sculptures located in the middle of the green corridor.
Every year, from the beginning of spring to the middle of autumn, at least 36 thousand tourists visit the Andre Heller Botanical Garden to admire the natural paintings created over the years by Arturo Grushka and Andre Heller.
