Dead Horse Point State Park

Dead Horse's Head Park is a truly picturesque area that belongs to the United States. It is located in the southwestern part of Utah near the valley of the Colorado River. The park is not associated with its name, but is a huge observation deck, which opens onto an amazingly beautiful valley through which a river flows.

The filmmakers who noted the beauty of the Dead Horse Park do not pass by this area either. In 1991, the main part of the film "Thelma and Louise" was shot here.

A myth is dedicated to this park, which says that in the 19th century, the local territory was at the disposal of cowboys who used these natural traps to corral wild horses. To determine the most successful steed, the Indians drove the horses into a narrow isthmus, which was located at an altitude of 609 meters. But one day, people left and forgot to unlock the paddock, where the horses died. It was this sad story that gave the park the name of the Dead Horse.
