Canyonlands

Canyonlands is one of the numerous U.S. national parks in Utah. As a result of the effects of wind and water, numerous stunning canyons and remnants have formed in the park.

Canyonlands

Canyonlands is a very popular holiday destination, with at least 400,000 people visiting it annually since 2007. There are many cyclists, mountain climbers, and kayakers among the campers. The vast majority of tourists visit the Island in the Sky plateau, located between the Green and Colorado Rivers. The top point of the plateau is located at an altitude of 1,828 meters, which allows you to explore almost all the surroundings of the national park. The park's territory is 1366 km2 and is conditionally divided into 4 districts: an Island in the Sky, Needles, Horseshoe Canyon and a Maze. Each district has its own special feature.

In the area of the Needle, you can see arches, spires, canyons, caves. The area was so named because of the white and red sandstone spires. Thanks to the large number of trails, from here you can get to all the main attractions of Canyonlands Park. The most inaccessible area in the park is the Labyrinth, which covers an area of 80 km2 and is a collection of small canyons, ridges and ravines. It's hard to get here, so tourists stay here to explore the sights for a few days. Nearby are the remaining towers: Dollhouse, Ernie's Country, Crests. In Horseshoe Canyon, you can see traces of the presence of the indigenous peoples of America, in particular the Anasazi tribe, who left numerous rock carvings, frescoes, pictographs. According to the analysis, some of the drawings were made in 2000 BC.

Canyonlands

Of no less interest is the wildlife of Canyonlands Park, which includes 273 species of birds alone, including hawks, eagles, grouse, buzzards, harriers, owls, woodpeckers, crows, thrushes, orioles, swallows, ducks, and partridges. Among the mammals here you can meet bears, skunks, coyotes, moose, badgers, lynxes, cougars, foxes. It is worth noting that most animals are nocturnal due to the heat.
