Barcelona Zoo

The Barcelona Zoo, which has existed in Spain since 1892, has long gained worldwide fame. In this complex of Barcelona, animals live without fences that are characteristic of all world zoos. This allows visitors to heartily enjoy chatting with animals.

Between various species of animals, special ditches are dug, which is filled with water. That is how our smaller brothers are separated from each other.

This zoo not only accommodates various animals, it is a real oasis of natural wealth. Here, on 13.5 hectares of land there are at least 319 species of animals, as well as about 400 species of various plants. The zoo of Barcelona is also appreciated by the fact that it constantly takes part in scientific activities, which is why the number of endangered species of animals is gradually increasing. Many four-legged, born in a zoo, were released, in natural conditions. Particular attention in the park is given to mammals, namely those species that are similar to humanity.

A railway is laid through the entire zoo of Barcelona, on which a small steam locomotive runs. In his trams, guests can easily move throughout the park, which is very convenient. Also in the zoo you can use the services of three-wheeled electric vehicles. With the help of this technique, visitors tirelessly enjoy exclusive plants, animals and, of course, evaluate the conditions in which they are located.

The entire territory of the zoo is divided into expositions. Each of them is worth separate attention, because it stands out for its fantastic design, its unusualness. The local monkeys have adapted very well to these conditions, they have excellent appetite and good mood. Here there is the so-called « Jumper Gallery », where you can learn a lot of new and interesting things about the features of the life of some species of monkeys. For many years, the symbol of the Barcelona Zoo was a male gorilla named Snowball. This amazing albino animal has lived here for at least 40 years, which equals with 80 years of human life.

On the territory of the Barcelona Zoo you can taste the magnificent « Palm Forest », where a wonderful collection of various palm trees is presented. « The dragon territory » holds Komodo baranas, and you can watch the life of reptiles in the terrarium. As for marine animals, not a small number of them are collected in « Aquarama ».
