Daikanransha
There is an amusement park with a surprisingly large-scale attraction on the artificially created island of Odaibo. Until 2000, the Daikanrancha Ferris Wheel remained the tallest in the world and was listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Now it remains the largest in all of Asia. Its height is 115 meters, and at the top the cabin rises another 5 meters up. Some of the suspended cabins have a transparent bottom, which adds to the thrill.
Interesting fact: in case of strong wind or rain, booths can stay in the air for an indefinite amount of time, visitors are dropped off at this time, and new ones are not taken until weather conditions improve. A full circle lasts 16 minutes, during which time you can see almost the entire central part of Tokyo, as well as see the surroundings in the east of the city. In good weather, you can see the contours of Mount Fuji from the glass cabins.
The word "Daikanransha" literally translates as a big wheel, and this is not surprising, the attraction is clearly visible from almost all Tokyo observation decks. That is why visiting the Ferris wheel is one of the mandatory points for every tourist. In the dark, the giant structure is illuminated by illumination and becomes a huge light object in itself.
Rainbow Bridge
From the cockpit of the Daikanrancha attraction, you can see the cable-stayed bridge that connects the artificial island with the shipyard in Sibaur. It was installed at this place back in 1993 and has been the hallmark of Tokyo ever since.
The two-tiered structure has a height of 126 meters, and the bridge is 918 meters long. The local population and tourists have long called the bridge "Rainbow", naturally, this is due to the unusually bright illumination that illuminates the bridge from dusk until the morning. In addition to the highway, there are pedestrian and bicycle paths on the bridge.
Tokyo Sky Tree
Another object that is clearly visible from the Daikanrancha booth is the local TV tower. Its height is 634 meters, it is the tallest TV tower in the whole world, on its lower floors there is a huge shopping center, the entrance to the tower itself is on the 4th floor. From here, you can take a high-speed elevator to the observation deck in 1 minute. Which is located at an altitude of 350 meters. Part of the site, including its floor, is made of thick tempered glass, which makes visiting the facility even more exciting.
At night, the tower shimmers alternately purple-red and neon-blue.
