Livrustkammaren

Livrustkammaren is a Royal treasury located among the Royal Palace in the capital of Sweden. Many tourists are attracted to this place by the fact that it is here that a large number of precious household items used by the royals are collected. These unique museum exhibits are still used for their intended purpose during the most important ceremonies: coronations, weddings.

The founder of the royal collection is King Gustavus Adolphus, who in 1628, returning home from the war, ordered his heirs to save their military uniforms and pass them on from generation to generation.

Since that time, the exhibits in the Livrustkammaren Museum have only multiplied. Ancient royal clothes dating back to 1600 years have been preserved here, as well as various toys that the royal children used to amuse themselves with. A little later, a collection of cars was added to the museum exhibits.

The oldest museum exhibits include military supplies, as well as weapons that have come down to us since 1500. The most recent object of the museum exhibition is the wonderful dress of Princess Victoria, in which she celebrated her 18th birthday (1995).

The most interesting and informative expositions that are directly related to royal life are often observed in the walls of the Livery Chamber. Here you can see an exhibition of shoes, as well as many other items related to the Armory of the kingdom.

There is a hall in the museum itself where you can hold your own wedding or other special event. The large windows of this hall offer a beautiful view of the park area of Livrustkammaren. There is a special atmosphere here, which is conducive to holding festive dinners and events.

Photography is allowed in the museum. There is a stand with a diagram of the museum, which makes it easy to navigate the space of this building.

Entrance to the Livery Chamber Museum is paid, except for persons under the age of 19.
