Archaeologists discovered in the middle of the pyramid of the Sun the burial of ancient people that were sacrificed. And four out of sixteen belong to children. Some of the burials found are presented for review at the Mexican Museum of Anthropology.
Not so long ago, in 1971, a cave and a hundred meter tunnel were also found under the very pyramid of the Sun. It was previously believed that they were formed naturally, but later it was established that this creation belongs to human hands. Some of the latest excavations confirmed that the tunnel and the cave served as a royal tomb.
