The pyramid of the sun
The Pyramid of the Sun is a huge structure of ancient civilizations, which is a mystery to the modern world. It is located in the city of Teotihuacan, which belongs to Mexico. The Pyramid of the Sun is the third largest among all known pyramids on the planet and belongs to the local large temple ensemble.
Scientists have been working for a long time to find out how and under what circumstances the Pyramid of the Sun was built in Mexico. After that, they came to the conclusion that this architectural giant was built in the II century AD. The base of the pyramid is a huge mound of earth, densely packed with various stones. The pyramid is brick-lined with clay, as well as plastered and painted. According to scientists, at least 20 thousand people were involved in the construction of the pyramid for at least 20 years.
The Pyramid of the Sun has five tiers, and a temple was once located here from the very top. It was once possible to climb to the very top of the huge pyramid thanks to the steps, of which, in our time, only ruins remain. The height of the oldest building is 65 meters, and the side of its base is 200 meters.
Archaeologists have discovered in the middle of the pyramid of the Sun the burial of ancient people who were sacrificed. And four of the sixteen belong to children. Some of the graves found are presented for review at the Mexican Museum of Anthropology.
Not so long ago, in 1971, a cave and a hundred-meter tunnel were also found under the pyramid of the Sun. Previously, it was believed that they were formed naturally, but later it was established that this creation belongs to human hands. Recent excavations have confirmed that the tunnel and cave served as a royal tomb.
Researchers believe that the pyramid of the Sun played a very important role in the culture, science and agriculture of the ancient Indians. This building also served a major function in religion.
Now, the Pyramid of the Sun is a tourist area that is visited by millions of tourists every year. It is an excellent monument of culture and history, which testifies to us about the most ancient civilizations.
