Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park
Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park is located in Italy. Very often you can also hear its first name - Abruzzo. This mountain reserve is located in the Appenins, amazing landscapes of this area and made it famous.
The vast territory of the park belongs to the province of L’Aquila, but some of it is located in Frozinon, as well as Izernia. That is why its name is three-digit: Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise. The founder of the park is ecologist Erminio Sipari, who decided to unite and preserve the natural wealth of this territory back in 1922. The total reserve area is within 496 km2.
On the territory of the park there are mountain ranges, among which stands out for their sizes Monti della Meta, whose height is 2249 m. Various kinds of cliffs, karst formations transform the mountain landscape of this area into an indescribable landscape. In the reserve Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, the Sangro River originates, there are also many crystal lakes, among which there is a large artificial one with the name Barrea.
Representatives of the flora of the park Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise are forests, where oak, beech, several species of pine, as well as birch predominate. There is a large variety of vegetation, including mosses, mushrooms, lichens.
The fauna of the park also boasts its diversity, because very rare animals are found on these lands. Bears, wolves, lynx, roam, roe deer, hares, proteins and many others roam the reserve. The park administration directs its efforts to the safety of this territory, as well as attracting tourists.
