Museum Ludwig

In Cologne, the Ludwig Museum, a collection of modern European art, is rightfully considered one of the most significant attractions. The institution was established in 1976. The shows were based on paintings from the 20th century, which were in the collection of Peter Ludwig, a prominent German industrialist and philanthropist, and his wife, Irene. In the museum, you can also admire paintings by Expressionist artists that once belonged to the famous lawyer and collector Joseph Haubrich.

Cultural heritage

The founders of the museum have made an invaluable contribution to the development of culture. They were called symbols of Germany's post-war renaissance. The Ludwig family insisted that the collection be replenished with new collections. This tradition has been preserved to this day. Foreign and domestic artists or their heirs bring the best works to the Ludwig Museum. To date, the works of 150 authors have been collected here. The collections will continue to be expanded in the future. At the moment, the focus is on the freedom of viewer perception, which is not constrained by curatorial concepts.
