Champs-Élysées

Champs-Elysees is considered the most important street in Paris, which starts from Place de la Concorde and reaches Place Charles de Gaulle. The street is one of the largest in size, with a width of 70 meters and a length of just over 1,900 meters.

Champs-Élysées

This main attraction of the French capital is the most beautiful, expensive and luxurious place not only in France, but also in the whole world.

Translated from Greek, Champs-Elysees means "islands of the blessed." Immortal heroes of Greek mythology lived in this mystical land.

Champs-Élysées

Until the early 16th century, it was a swampy area where the French kings hunted game. The area received its transformed appearance thanks to Marie de' Medici, who ordered the construction of a walking area. The territory was drained and trees were planted in three rows. And Louis XIV ordered the architect Andre Lenotre to expand and demolish the surrounding area. The road was reinforced and many lanterns were installed, as a result of which this place became a popular place for recreation and walking. Later, luxury mansions, shops and shops were built here, and asphalt was laid.

Champs-Elysees Avenue got its name during the French Revolution. Today, the territory of the Champs–Elysees is divided into two parts: the first of them is reserved for shops, the second is a park area.

The park area stretches for 700 meters in length and 400 meters in width and is arranged in the form of squares - three squares are located on the north side and two on the south. The opening of the park area is a replica of the Konya Marli sculpture, installed in the square of the Ambassadors. The Palace of the head of the French Republic has been erected in the center of the square of the Elysee Palace. The theater of the same name is located in the third square of Marigny.

The southern part of the avenue includes Georam Square and a Large Square of Games or Celebrations. Two exhibition halls have been erected on the territory of the latter, in which works of art are displayed, as well as temporary exhibitions are held. Fountains have been erected practically in all areas of the squares. The end of the park area is a circular square with an equipped theater.

Next is a shopping area with various boutiques, restaurants, banking institutions, and travel agencies.

The Champs-Elysees are the center of events in the days of the solemn celebration of the conquest of the Bastille and the end of the First World War. These days there are celebrations led by the President of France and a military parade.

And this area is especially beautiful on New Year's Eve, when everything sparkles with iridescent garlands.
