Montreal Botanical Garden

Montreal Botanical Garden - a green island of freedom among the stone jungle of Montreal. It was founded in 1931, in difficult times for the world - during the Great Depression. The garden was planned by Henry Teusher, and the design of Lucien Kerouac developed the building for the administration of the garden in the art deco genre. In 1936 he opened his doors to visitors.

Montreal Botanical Garden is one of the best gardens in the world. The territory occupied by the gardens is 75 hectares, on which the following gardens are located: Chinese, Alpine, medicinal plants, rhodendrons, toxic garden plants, First Nations, Japanese, in which tea ceremonies are held, as well as a dendrarium and a garden with azalias. In total, the collection of the botanical garden includes over 25 thousand species of plants located in 10 greenhouse and greenhouse, about 30 stylized gardens that recreate those parts of the world from where they come from.

In the Chinese garden, everything is stylized as China: winding paths are laid, there are even artificial embankments, symbolizing mountains, waterfalls, and typical Chinese plants are planted. In the garden there is a bonsai collection that gave the garden.

The First Nations Garden represents Canada, so it is fashionable to meet typical representatives in the garden: maples, birch trees, pine trees. Throughout the garden, the totem pillars of the Indians are located, as well as a large number of exhibits related to the life of the Indians. In gardens you can also see typical animals in Canada: ducks, squirrels, turtles and herons.

The Montreal Botanical Garden all year round surprises its visitors with the aroma of flowers and their magnificent coloring.
