Day 6. Florence without haste

Day 6. Florence without haste

On the sixth day, I decided to take a little calmer and look at Florence from above. The way up turned out to be a little more difficult than it looked in my imagination, but when I finally stopped and saw the city in front of me, it became clear that all these ascents were not in vain. Florence looks completely different from above, and at such moments it's especially clear how compact a city can seem, which a few hours ago you were winding kilometers through.

After that, I just walked around without a clear plan. I looked into stores, first I looked at branded items, and then I bought small souvenirs that would surely be in the closet with the inscription "Italy" at home, and again I photographed everything that came across on the way.

I actually noticed a strange thing about myself: the longer I travel, the less I photograph the sights and the more I take pictures of ordinary things – streets, a cup of coffee, a hotel window, a table in a cafe and some funny sign.

Понте Санта-Тринита

Ponte Santa Trinita

I was captivated by the place of Ponte Santa Trinita, it is located between the districts of the historical center and Oltrarno. Unlike the crowded Ponte Vecchio, it's peaceful here. This is probably the perfect place to take a break, breathe in the air and feel the atmosphere of the city.

It was in Florence that I finally abandoned the idea of adding a few more cities to the trip. At some point, it became clear to me that if I tried to look at everything in ten days, I would only remember train stations, train numbers, and where I left my charger. And I wanted to return home with the feeling that I really was in Italy, and not just moving around with a suitcase.
