Bukovel
Bukovel is one of the largest ski resorts in Ukraine, located at the foot of the mountain of the same name in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The ski season in Bukovel starts in November and lasts until April.
The history of the resort began in 2000 when an agreement was signed on the construction of a year-round recreational complex. A year later, the first 691-meter-long ski lift appeared on the northern slope of the mountain. In September 2002, a cable car and a track appeared on the north-western slope. In 2003, about 50,000 people were already vacationing at the resort, in 2011 there were already more than a million tourists, of which about 10% were foreigners.
The entire infrastructure of the resort is located on the slopes of five mountains: Bulchinekha (1,455 m), Dovga (1,372 m), Chernaya Kleva (1,241 m), Babiy Pogar (1,180 m), Bukovel (1,127 m). There are 62 trails in the Bukovel resort, ranging from 3,000 to 2,350 meters in length, and the total length of the trails is about 60 kilometers. For a quick ascent to the slopes, 16 lifts are equipped, which can lift up to 35 thousand people in an hour. In case there is not enough snow, snow cannons are launched, which are available on all routes, and special equipment monitors the proper condition.
In addition to ski trails, the resort provides sports fields, a climbing wall, horseback riding, cycling, dog sledding, snowmobiling and ATVs. Fans of less active recreation can go to the entertainment center to play bowling, billiards and more. In Bukovel, you can also heal in the mineral springs, swim in the famous Bukovel vats. You can improve your health under the supervision of doctors at the balneological center.
