Synevyr

Synevyr is one of the most famous and beautiful lakes in Ukraine, located in Transcarpathia. Here for a wedding photo shoot come from all over Transcarpathia. It is believed that if the newlyweds fell in love with each other on the lake, then they will have strong and long love.

Synevyr

The lake appeared as a result of a powerful earthquake that shifted the mountains, blocking the path of streams more than 10,000 years ago. Three mountain streams filled the lake with cleanest water, in which trout feels good now, since fishing is prohibited here. The depth of water is on average 10-11 meters, the maximum 22 meters, the lake covers an area of about 7 hectares. Sinevir Lake and the surrounding area are part of the same national park with an area of 404 km2. The path of water is blocked by a natural dam with which a small stream flows. It is worth noting that Sinevir does not leave the coast even during strong floods.

Surrounding landscapes amaze with their beauty. The slopes of the mountains, down to the very edge of the water, overgrown with centuries-old spruce. In the middle of Lake Sinevir there is a small island, like a pupil on the water surface of the island. Because of this, the people also call the lake "Sea Eye".

The locals have a beautiful legend about the lake. Once these edges belonged to a rich count, and he had a beautiful daughter named Blue, and they called her that because her eyes were blue like the sky. The count decided to see how his lumberjacks work in the mountains, and took his daughter with him. While he watched lumberjacks work, her daughter went to collect flowers. She heard nearby the sounds of a flute and went in their direction. There she saw a beautiful young man named Vir. So they met, the girl often began to visit the guy in the mountains. The count found out about this, ordered his daughter to stop meeting, but she did not listen, then the count ordered his people to drop a stone from a rock on a guy. Vir died of the blow, the Blue found out about it and ran to the stone, hugged it and sobbed for a long time until a lake appeared around it. Locals named Lake Sinevir after lovers. The water in the lake has since been blue and clean, like the eyes of Xin. In the middle is the same stone.

In 1984, sculptors Mikhail Sanich Ivan Brovdi cut on the shore wooden sculptures of Sini and Vira 13 meters high. A walk along the lake is perfect for family pastime, those who love the marine climate should be sent to Turkey.
