Verzasca

Verzasca – is an amazing beauty mountain river that flows through the territory of Switzerland. The river attracts many tourists to its shores, because it has long been famous for mirror waters and an unusual bottom, strewn with colorful pebbles.

Its origins are located in the highlands, at an altitude of 2864 meters, then it runs between picturesque valleys and flows into the pretty Lake Maggiore, which is located on the border of the two countries – Italy and Switzerland. Scientists explain this by the fact that river water has increased acidity, which is absolutely unsuitable for living organisms, as well as vegetation.

In 1959, a dam was built here, the height of which is 220 meters. Usually extreme lovers gather near her to do bungee jumping. It was in this area that the scene of the famous « bandiana » was shot, where the main character made a colorful leap, which was worthily appreciated by the audience.
