Park Sofiero
Sofieru Park is located on the southwestern side of Sweden on the Baltic Sea, 5 km from the city of Helsingborg. Its territory is about 15 hectares.
Sofieru Castle was built in 1864 and named Sofiero after the wife of King Oscar Sofia. When the grandson of Gustaf Adolf got married, the king gave him a castle. And since 1905, Sofieru Castle became the property of King Gustav VI Adolf and Princess Margaret.
The design landscape of the park was created for their initiatives. The couple spent a lot of time in the park, and in a short time the English Garden, a pleasure garden, was created. Gratings were installed to protect plants from the wind, which were planted with clamings and gemolosity. The king himself planted many varieties of rhododendrons. The king recorded all the information about the plants with his own hands.
After the death of King Gustav VI Adolf, the will park passed into the possession of the city of Helsingborg. The castle and the territory of Sofieru Park attract visitors with their beauty of the architecture of the palace and the landscape design of the beautiful gardens located on the park.
Here are collected plants from some countries of the world, luxury flower beds of rhododendrons have been created. The whole beauty of flowering rhododendrons of all kinds and different heights can be seen, starting from spring and September. At this time, Sofieru Park is painted with all kinds of colors. Unusual flowering bushes, flower beds, fountains and ponds are located in the park, they calm the look.
Unusual leatrice beauty, bells, fluxes and various shades and malais are growing here. In the foreground are cosmets, hosts, echinacei. Several arbors are decorated with curly roses. Next is a pleasure garden, in which the samshites are cut in square and diagonal, tender plants are planted inside them, and vases with geraniums are installed in the center. Also, samshita bushes are trimmed in the form of ducks.
Having gone further, the flower beds of georgins of all kinds of colors are visible. Behind them is the part of the garden, which was created in honor of the anniversary of Princess Margaret, where plants of cold and warm shades predominate.
A restaurant and an observation deck are located on the park. There is a permanent exhibition of contemporary art in Sofieru Park, which you can visit everyone. Other events are also regularly held here, for example, at the end of summer in the park you can enjoy flower festivals, where you can buy a seasoned plant.
