Muang Boran

Mueang Boran, also known as Ancient Siam, is a park in Thailand, built under the patronage of Lek Viriyaphant. It was founded in 1972, it covers an area of more than 3.2 square kilometers, and thanks to this, the park is called the largest open-air museum. The construction of the complex lasted almost 10 years. Tourists from different countries come here every year.

Muang Boran

History of creation

The idea to open a park with "space and time travel" came to the mind of a millionaire from Thailand. Also, historical sources tell us that Mueang Boran was supposed to be a golf course, it was written in the cartographic form of Thailand, but the plans have changed. I liked the plans for the creation of Leke Viriyaphanta Park better. He invested $200 million in the project, after which Muang Boran Park appeared.

The history of the park begins in 1960, it was in this year that the construction of the park was planned. You can see on the territory: many copies and miniatures of Thai attractions, they are significantly reduced, but they look quite realistic. There are rare exhibits that have been destroyed in real life, and they are also very close to real historical sites.

Muang Boran

Short description

In Muang Boran Park, you should pay attention to the replica of King Rama V's house. There is a legend that he really lived for a long period of time in this place. Inside the temple, located on its territory, you might have noticed a rather strange, unusual interior for all temples. It looks like a small museum. As for the design of Mueang Boran Park, there is much to say. But the lakes in the middle of the garden, amazing fountains and rocks are the most memorable. All tourists recommend coming here in warm weather, as the gardens are filled with lush greenery and mirrored ponds.

Since the territory is very large and it is almost impossible to see everything at once, it is therefore recommended to make a plan for visiting the park, or it is worth considering renting a bicycle. Tourists also took boats or local colorful trams, it looks very aesthetically pleasing in the photo, so this is an alternative option to consider more beauties. One of the interesting facts is that construction is still underway, and some of the exhibits of Mueang Boran Park are listed in UNESCO.
