Description
Hot lava spewed from the volcano, gushing towards the ocean, burning through the rocks in its path. The upper parts of the stream had time to freeze, and the fiery current continued inside. A tube-like cavity was formed, almost 6 km long, up to 15 m high, and up to 25 m wide. At its deepest point, the tunnel reaches 35 m below sea level. The temperature in the cave is 18-20 degrees all year round.
Cueva de los Verdes is considered one of the largest in the world, created by nature during volcanic eruptions. Inside the tunnel created by herself, the cooling lava arbitrarily formed cracks, crevices, surges, lava stalactites, woven into a unique futuristic pattern on the walls, vaults and floors.
