Sundarbans

Sundarban National Park can be called international – it is located on the territory of two countries.: India and Bangladesh. The name of the park means "beautiful jungle" in Bengali. This is a biosphere reserve created with the aim of preserving the endangered Bengal tiger. During the maintenance of the international Tiger program, each of the representatives of this species (there are about 400 of them at the moment) is under control, thanks to a collar with a radio transmitter.

Sundarbans

Scientists have managed to eradicate poaching and create favorable conditions for the reproduction of rare inhabitants of the Globe. These royals, with their majestic appearance, proud bearing and soft gait, are rightfully the masters of the universe.

Sundarbans is a natural area with more than 50 islands separated by rivers and channels. Due to the proximity of the ocean, the water in the reservoirs is salty. Very often, the territory is flooded with large amounts of water. That is why there are no residential buildings here. The entire area of the park is covered by mangrove forests with 300 varieties of flowers and 17 ferns. Since they were previously cut down en masse, today only 20% percent of the previously existing territory of mangroves remains. Today, mangroves are protected by an endangered species of flora. Only these unique trees can easily tolerate salt water and feel good in this area, and regular flooding is a prerequisite for their normal growth. Due to their intertwined roots, they reliably strengthen the coastline.

Sundarbans Park is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Natural conditions have been created here for rare species of animals – Bengal cats, foxes, mongooses, axises and other animals. Due to the large amount of water, the territory is home to many aquatic animals, waterfowl, fish, saltwater crocodiles, dolphins.

The only way to travel through the Sundarban National Park is by boating. For the purpose of safety, there is a specially equipped observation deck from which you can observe all the inhabitants of the national park. Before visiting the protected area, it is necessary to obtain a permit from the capital's tourism office located in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Here you will be reminded that it is forbidden to frighten crocodiles, chase monkeys, and hunt tigers in the park.
