Catalunya en Miniatura
Catalunya en Miniatura is an open-air museum, which is a park in which mini-copies of the sights of Catalonia are located. This is a smaller copy of Catalonia, where 150 of its architectural structures with detailed details are presented. Everything the most interesting and the best that is in the region is collected here, only in a reduced form. Its area is about 25,000 m.2.
Visitors can see all of Catalonia from the height of human growth and get acquainted with all its attractions. The park can also be viewed from the side, for this a small tourist train runs around its perimeter. Before entering the park there is a statue of Gulliver, which from the first minutes of the visit makes you feel like a giant in the country of liliput.
All layouts in miniature Catalonia are not in random order, namely, as they actually are relatively different. Along with attractions, the park is equipped with trees, flowers that create the illusion of a park and forest.
The expositions are equipped with buttons with which visitors can revive some scenes and see how planes make noise, travel various vehicles, go down the skiers as fire lights up, and fire engines quickly extinguish it. Here they demonstrate the culture, folklore and customs of the people. The park has built ancient castles and churches, historical buildings, various bridges, roads, stadiums, airports, freeways, and there is its own Mediterranean Sea.
Here are reproduced masterpieces by Antonio Gaudi, such as Guell Park, Batllo House, Sagrada Familia, Mila House, known for lack of corners and lines, more than ten of his works. All proportions of the expositions are aged in a ratio of one to twenty-five. Here the houses were built to the waist, some knee-deep facilities.
Fans of outdoor activities will like the zone « Living Forest », where adventure routes of various difficulty levels – gnome route, fairies route – are hanging bridges along which you can climb between trees. Here you can not only play Mowgli, but also inspect the entire park from a bird's eye view.
