Anapa Dolphinarium

Just 18 kilometers from Anapa, in the village of Bolshoy Utrish, the amazing Anapa Dolphinarium opened in 1992 in the lagoon of the Black Sea.

The dolphin enclosures are located right in the open sea, where performances take place, during which dolphins perform various tricks. This arrangement of enclosures has a positive effect on the condition of dolphins, because they practically live in their natural habitat. But there is also a negative side - as temperatures drop, it becomes difficult to work with dolphins, so the Anapa Dolphinarium holds shows from May 15 to October 15. At this time, the show with marine animals takes place 3 times a day, and the audience can watch everything from the stands by the sea.

In addition to dolphins, you can see northern sea lions, belugas, seals, dolphin-alafins, and various fur seals. For a fee, you can take a course of dolphin therapy, which is an unconventional form of treatment for psychological diseases and for the rehabilitation of patients with neurosis, depression, memory disorders, stuttering, early childhood autism, etc. This type of therapy is based on the friendly attitude of these animals to humans and their ability to create ultrasonic waves that have a beneficial effect on the nervous system. You can also go boating, which will be propelled by dolphins.

In addition to dolphins, you can admire the mountains of the Caucasus, the waters of the Black Sea, and the unique juniper forests in the Bolshoy Utrish Nature Reserve adjacent to the dolphinarium. Peregrine falcons, black hyphae, and sea eagles nest nearby, and over 80 species of birds come here for the winter, including the rare hissing swan.

There are many more interesting sights near Anapa, such as the Yew and boxwood Grove, the Anapa Archaeological Museum-Reserve, the Sochi National Park with its unique waterfalls, forests, and mountains.
