Tirta Gangga

On the island of Bali, near the town of Karangasem, there is the amazing water palace of Tyrta Ganga. The name of the palace literally translates as "sacred waters of the Ganga River" and attracts tourists with a magnificent garden surrounded by fountains and ponds.

The palace complex was built on the orders of Raji Karangasem in 1946, who personally participated in the construction of the palace on an equal basis with ordinary workers. The Water Palace was built on the site of a source beating from under the sacred tree of banyan and supplying water to the city of Amlapura. In 1963, the volcano Agung destroyed the palace, but soon it was restored in its original form. Today, Tyrta Ganga pleases tourists with eleven multi-level fountains, carved bridges, ponds with decorative carps, beautiful statues decorating the labyrinths of pools. This is a great place to relax and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of old Bali. In the swimsuit you can swim for an additional fee, and for the possibility of visiting the palace, foreigners will have to pay 35,000 rupees, the Indonesian entrance costs only 10,000. If you wish, you can hire an experienced guide, but it will cost 70,000-100,000 rupees per hour. Young residents can order a wedding photo shoot for 750,000 rupees.

The water palace on the island of Bali is surrounded by rice terraces that photographers love very much. Many photos of rice terraces in Bali are taken here. Also at the foot of the hill there is a source near which the locals erected a temple. The temple hosts rituals related to birth and purification. Many consider the water from the spring to be healing and use it in ceremonies. In the mythology of the Hindus, Ganga is a sacred river that descended from heaven, capable of washing away human sins.

At the entrance to the palace there are souvenir shops, and inside the palace there is a restaurant where you can taste local dishes by looking at pools and gardens.
