Prague Castle
Prague Castle is located in the heart of the Czech capital and is an ensemble of various structures, including temple and fortification buildings. Translated Prague Castle sounds like « Fortress ». Of course, this complex is the pride of the whole country, as well as the center of the capital and the national symbol.
At the moment, the residence of the Czech president, which is considered the largest in the world, is justified in Prague Castle. There is also an assumption that this is the most huge castle in the world.
Prague Castle was settled back in 880, but it was destroyed by fire and in 1333 was restored at the initiative of Charles IV. His world fame was predicted even by Princess Libushe. This prediction came true in the most detailed little things that everyone knows about.
This fortress has long been visited by many tourists from all over the world, because it really costs increased attention. Various architecture is concentrated here, which applies to different eras. Near modern Prague Castle, a guard at the first courtyard, which is composed of young beautiful men, is solemnly standing. They are clearly selected for growth, all beautiful and representative. The main building is St. Vitus Cathedral, which is made in the Gothic style. This building is simply amazing, it is so beautiful, both outside and inside, that there is simply not enough vocabulary to describe all the charms of architectural fantasy.
The Old Royal Palace, which houses the unique Vladislav Hall, which previously held coronations, is also worth a lot of attention. This hall is also very important in our time, because the presidential elections are held in it. In the walls of the Vladislav Hall, special events, various feasts, as well as tournaments of brave knights were often held.
It is from here that the great mess of Europe originates, when in the 7th century, straight from the window of one of the halls of the fortress, the ambassadors of Ferdinand II were thrown out. Of course, they were saved, but this gave the foundation for a protracted Thirty Years War.
The third courtyard also holds the basilica of St. George, which is considered the oldest temple building in this place. Its two towers are symbols of Adam and Eve. There is also the institution of noble girls, which has existed since 1731.
On the territory of Prague Castle there is a magnificent garden called Paradise. Here is a truly paradise atmosphere, which is filled with fountains and wonderful nature.
