Bohemian Switzerland

Czech Switzerland is a magnificent nature reserve that simply enchants with its beauty. It is located in the northwestern part of the Czech Republic, where the border with the German national Park Saxon Switzerland runs. Many tourists are simply in love with this place, because here you can have a wonderful rest, forgetting about the hustle and bustle of the city.

Bohemian Switzerland

On the territory of Czech Switzerland there are boarding houses and holiday homes, the prices of which are relatively inexpensive.

The highlight of Czech Switzerland is the distinctive sandstone cliffs, which have different sizes. They are surrounded by forests and wonderful rivers. It also has the highest European rock, which is called "Pravchitska Brana". It is the main natural attraction of the park and has the appearance of a rocky arch. This pearl of the reserve, which was formed more than one thousand years ago, has a height of 16 meters, and its width is close to 26 meters. A wonderful castle called the Falcon's Nest is hidden among the rocks near this area.

Bohemian Switzerland

Another attraction of Czech Switzerland is the Clary-Aldringen Palace. This structure has the appearance of a hunting lodge, where nowadays there is an excellent gallery of photographs depicting landscapes of Czech lands. There is also a restaurant serving delicious dishes, and from its windows you can admire the natural riches of the reserve.

Tourists come to the town of Hrzhensko, which is located on the territory of Czech Switzerland, to buy a wonderful souvenir in the form of a fairy-tale character. This area is the lowest point of the whole country.

The village of Hrzhipska is located on the lands of the reserve, which became famous for its ancient glass workshop, where "Bohemian glass" has long been produced. The guests of the village are shown the steps of making glass products. They can be purchased at the shops that are scattered throughout the park.

Tourists are also very interested in local excursions to the mines where silver was previously mined.

Falkenstein Castle is a wonderful building that is located high in the mountains, offering magnificent views. It is another landmark of Czech Switzerland.

Czech Switzerland was granted the status of a National Nature Reserve in 1972. This was facilitated by the huge canyons, wonderful valleys with wild plants, as well as the velvety forests that are located along the Elbe River.
