Port Aventura

Port Aventura is a complex of amusement parks and a European resort in Spain. It is located in the Tarragona area, near Salou, about an hour south of Barcelona. The amusement park ranks sixth in Europe. More than 3 million tourists come here every year.

Description

The largest European resort has a huge entertainment complex, opened in 1995 and consisting of 6 zones.:

• The Mediterranean;
• The Wild West;
• Mexico;
• China;
• Polynesia;
• Sesame Street.

There are 40 different attractions in the park, their number increases every year, and up to 90 theatrical performances per day take place.

The Mediterranean

Upon entering Port Aventura, one immediately felt the romantic, cozy charm of a Catalan fishing town - this is how the Mediterranean area greets. The path leads directly to the Port de la Drassana, where you can board a boat and sail around the port of Aventura.

The variety of souvenirs in the shops makes one's eyes run away. There are many cafes and restaurants in the area. The main facility is Furius Baco, a roller coaster. They were installed in 2007. It takes 3.5 seconds to reach a speed of 135 km/h. The attraction is the fastest in Europe.

The Wild West

This area of Portaventura has a cowboy atmosphere, supported by traditional American landscapes and music. In the stylized saloon, visitors feel like real cowboys, and they can shoot in the shooting gallery to complete the experience.

After the Silver River Flum attraction, satisfied vacationers come out completely wet. They had just gone rafting on "logs" on a fast river. It is usually very noisy near the Stampida and Tomahawk attractions, especially when the trolleys of a train moving on wooden rails enter another steep curve. You can swim along the rapid mountain river not on logs, but on a balloon at the Grand Canyon Rapids attraction.

Mexico

Under the incendiary Mexican music, visitors carefully examine the "ancient ruins" and the "Mayan pyramid", and, of course, agaves. The Portaventura area is home to one of the world's most extreme and tallest attractions, the Hurakan Condor, a free fall from a 100-meter tower.

A very interesting and spectacular one is the "temple of fire". Visitors walk through the maze, accompanied by various effects. Some of them cause genuine fear. For example, a falling ceiling or a floor opening up under your feet. A bright and memorable fire show awaits in the center of the maze.

China

The bright decorations of a typical chinatown immediately immerse you in the atmosphere of ancient China. But the most interesting thing is the attraction "Shambhala". A roller coaster with a height of 78 meters! Three trains take 32 passengers each and reach speeds of up to 135 km/h. This is one of the newest attractions. It was installed in 2012, and in the first 3 days it was experienced by 15 thousand people who wanted to get a thrill.

The Dragon Khan attraction on the territory of Port Aventura has been installed since its opening in 1995, the type is a roller coaster, but with Chinese motifs. Turns, turns, ascents and descents, 8 "dead loops" and speeds up to 110 km/h. From the very beginning and until now, the interest of visitors has not faded away.

Polynesia

The smallest area in the Portaventura area is bright, exotic, and decorated with amazing plants. The sound of drums is constantly heard here, theatrical performances are arranged. Several cafes offer traditional Polynesian cuisine.

Among the attractions of the zone, the "sea Odyssey" is of the greatest interest. This is an imitation of underwater diving in a bathyscaphe with an interesting plot. At first, the guide is a dolphin, who tells tourists who have come on an excursion to the scientific laboratory about the latest discoveries related to the study of the oceans. Then suddenly a distress signal is received, and tourists go to rescue the submarine.

Sesame Street

The new zone started operating in 2011. It is also intended for very young vacationers. There are more than 11 attractions for them. The heroes of the series are walking around the territory, with whom you can take pictures.

Portaventura, in addition to the attractions in the themed areas, has a huge water amusement park PortAventura Aquatic, golf courses and even a lake covering 3 hectares. For the convenience of tourists, there are 4 hotels in the park.
