Geirangerfjord

Geyranger-fjord is one of the picturesque fjords of Norway, located in the area of Sunnmeur. The length of the fjord is approximately 15 km and it is located 280 km from the capital of the country. Geyranger is one of Storfjord's branches. For his beauty he was awarded the World Heritage List.

Geirangerfjord

The name of the fjord was given by the village of Geyranger, in it you can visit the Museum of Fjords, in which you can learn all about this region of Norway. But still, the main attractions of the fjord are not museums and villages, but its nature. Many waterfalls descend from the rocks, the height of which reaches almost a 1,500-kilometer mark, some of them have names - the Bridegroom and the Phat, the Seven Sisters. People used to cultivate land here, but now they abandoned everything, leaving behind small farms. Some farms were built on the ledges, which can only be climbed through the rope ladder.

In summer, you can sail to the Geyranger-fjord on the Khurtiten cruise ship". Fans of outdoor activities can go fishing here, ride a horse, swim in kayaks or ski in the winter. Those who can not walk this on local roads: Dalsnibba, Trollstigen, Ernswingen. Roads in places loop right at the abyss, and the views that open from them on the Geyranger fjord are even more breathtaking.
