Black Bamboo Hollow

Black bamboo Hollow is located in the Chinese province of Sichuan, it is called Heizhu. In China, people call this place the "valley of death", it got this name after many people disappeared without a trace in the dense thickets. In addition to the black bamboo itself, other species of this plant grow here, some of which reach a height of 40 meters. There are also several lakes and waterfalls, but there is little information about them yet.

Those who managed to return from Black Bamboo Hollow told about the same story. Most of them were affected by the fog, which appeared very quickly and also disappeared rapidly. In the fog, visibility was greatly reduced, people were attacked by intense fear, they heard strange noises. According to the local population, people have been disappearing in the hollow for the last 300 years, however, the documented facts begin with the fifties of the last century. During this period, according to various sources, about 100 people disappeared in this place. Both whole groups and individual travelers disappeared into the bamboo forest. There is a known case when a plane crashed into a ravine, all systems were fully operational and working normally. Having found no reason in the aircraft, everyone agreed that the pilot had become ill, which was the reason for the fall.

Features of the Black Bamboo Hollow

In 1997, the Chinese authorities, together with the Academy of Sciences, organized a special expedition to find out the cause of the mysterious disappearances. After a long enough study of the area, no specific reasons were identified that could lead to numerous disappearances. Scientists also pointed to the fog, which, in their opinion, contains various poisons. The researchers said that the territory of the Black Bamboo Hollow has multiple caves and sinkholes, and a swamp was discovered in one part of the bamboo forest. However, no one found the missing people or their remains.

Naturally, the locals have a lot of their own assumptions about Haizhu. Many people believe that a huge bamboo man-eating bear lives in the thicket. Other people talk about evil spirits who don't like it when someone talks too loudly while passing by the hollow. There is even a version about an alien intervention that takes place under the cover of a thick fog. One way or another, the black bamboo Hollow is very popular with tourists who want to see an unusual place with their own eyes and experience the mysterious effects of thick fog.
