Stanley Park
Stanley Park is a green urban park in Vancouver. This place is a real pride of the townspeople, who are happy to offer it to travelers from other countries. More than 8 million people visit him every year.
Stanley Park has existed since 1886, at that time there were impenetrable forests here. The park was named after the ruler of that time, Lord Stanley. Garden landscape specialists have never worked on the park area, but on the contrary, the organizers tried to preserve the pristine nature. Located almost in the middle of a bustling city, it always welcomes guests.
The main part of the park is considered to be the forest, with its pristine representatives. There are unique specimens of trees growing here, which reach a height of 76 meters. Of course, cutting them down is strictly prohibited, but they have repeatedly been subjected to natural disasters, in particular storms, which subsequently uprooted several valuable trees.
For visitors, from April to September, there is a good opportunity to enjoy the blooming of beautiful roses in the local rose garden. These wonderful flowers will not leave any Stanley Park vacationers indifferent. There is also a huge aquarium in the park, which is home to whales, dolphins and many other species of fish.
A little earlier, there was also a zoo here, and its remaining animals roam freely in Stanley Park, because they are cared for by local workers.
A large number of pedestals, statues and various monuments have been erected in the park, which is dedicated to important events, as well as great people. There is a monument to Lord Stanley, after whom this park is named. Since 2006, there has been a decree prohibiting the placement of any pedestals in the park, so as not to overwhelm the green area.
There is a lot to enjoy in the park for children, because there is a huge modern playground here. Both children and adults will enjoy an excursion on a local small train that runs through the forest thickets.
Stanley Park is not ignored by fans of various sports, as well as young couples with children. Noisy youth groups often gather here, but there is also a place for lonely dreamers.
