Amalir

The Amalir Sports and Concert Hall named after K. Demirchyan is located on Tsitsernakaberd Hill in Yerevan. The largest complex was built in 1983. The CCM project was carried out by a group of renowned Armenian architects, engineers and sculptors. Their work became the winner of the competition among 8 participants. In 1987, the authors of the project won the State Prize for their original architectural solution. The CCM is a structure made of rounded structures that support giant pylons.

Amalir

In 1983, only the sports section was opened. In 1984, a fire broke out in the concert hall, where construction work was still underway. The restoration work was completed only by 1987. Visitors to the Amalir complex are greeted by a comfortable and spacious lobby. It often hosts exhibitions, presentations, and other events. There is a cozy express cafe in the lobby, where amazing coffee is prepared.

The area of the sports hall is 3,800 m2, with 7,000 seats for spectators. The rotating grandstand increases the number of seats by another thousand. The Amalir Hall is equipped with excellent lighting and sound equipment, meeting the high requirements for international competitions.

Amalir

The area of the concert hall is almost 1300 m2. It can accommodate up to 2,000 spectators. The hall is also equipped with high-quality sound and lighting equipment, allowing you to organize the most beautiful shows. For international meetings, presentations and seminars, the CCM has an Ayastan conference hall equipped with high-quality modern technology. Argishti Hall is located next to Hayastan. It is ideal for corporate parties, receptions and other similar events.

In 1999, a terrorist attack took place in the Armenian parliament. Among the dead was K. Demirchyan, who put a lot of effort into the creation and development of the CCM. The Amalir complex was given his name. In October 2005, SKK was bought by the Russian construction company BAMO for 5.7 million dollars. Under the terms of the deal, the company was to carry out the reconstruction. The company fulfilled the condition by spending 42 million dollars. The work lasted 3 years.

Amalir is a venue for major mass events, from concerts to sports competitions. I. Gillan, Thomas Anders, Bonnie M, Michel Legrand, Demis Roussos, the orchestra of the La Scala Theater and other stars performed here. Among the sporting events, it is worth noting the Chess Olympiad in 1996, the European Wushu Championship, championships and tournaments in weightlifting, boxing, acrobatics, and rhythmic gymnastics. In 2011, the junior Eurovision Song Contest was held. The solemn inauguration of the country's president is also taking place in Amalir.
