West Lake
West Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Vietnam, located in the center of the modern metropolis – the capital of Hanoi on an area of about 2.3 km2. Lake Tai in Vietnamese means « West Lake ». Throughout Southeast Asia, this pond ranks third in area.
On the lake coast, 17 km long, the most expensive elite buildings with numerous hotels, restaurants and living quarters, as well as palace and temple buildings of historical and cultural significance are equipped.
The surroundings of the beautiful lake are pretty gardens, aromatic fields with tea, and whole plantations of crops. The entire territory of the lake is divided into 90 islands.
On one of the islands of Lake Tai, the most important attractions of Vietnam are located - the Pagoda Chankuok from the 4th century and the Kuanthan Temple, they are the sacred place of all Vietnamese Buddhists.
Tourists of this natural attraction can visit several amusement parks.
Here the Vietnamese love to breathe fresh air in the morning and do morning exercises. In the evenings, the most famous people gather along the coast to enjoy the taste of local cocktails and wines. On the adjacent territory to the lake, the whole atmosphere is saturated with romance, so this area is called « a date place ».
Here, often couples in love have romantic dinners. You can taste local delicacies both sitting in coastal cozy restaurants, and directly on spread carpets off the very shore of the lake. Chefs offer to taste shrimp pies, fish delicacies and even snails.
The service of holding weddings on board a floating restaurant is popular. As restaurants and clubs use ships. Here you can also take a walk through the water surface on the catamarans.
Thanks to the historical spirit, ancient culture of the population and the breathtaking landscapes of the adjacent territory – this area has gained great success among tourists. The best time to visit Lake Tai is the golden autumn, when local landscapes take on a fabulous look.
