Anjuna Beach

In the 60s and 70s of the last century, Anjuna Beach became widely known as a place of international gatherings of hippies and youth. Later he became famous for "trance" parties." A picturesque and vibrant place for everyone who is ready for fun and noisy parties before dawn.

The length of the beach is almost 2 km along the sea, it is quite narrow. Anjuna Beach is not included in the ranking of the best attractions in Goa, but it is widely known all over the world. The coast is always crowded with vacationers. Although the sharpest rocks are often found underwater, and iridescent oily oil spots often spread out on the surface of the sea, this does not deter tourists. The party atmosphere of the incessant party attracts like-minded people from different parts of the world.

Anjuna Beach stretches along the coast of the Arabian Sea in north Goa, it is bustling with resort life. Cafes, bars and restaurants welcome visitors around the clock. In the 60s, Portuguese colonialists left Goa, and an autonomous Indian state appeared on the map. The beautiful climate and the warm sea, like a magnet, began to attract hippies. Many of them stayed in this corner of paradise forever.

In the 80s, a new direction in music was formed on the coast - "Goa-trance". Millions of fans of the new musical trend have become a headache for local authorities for several years. The use of psychotropic substances in large quantities and the constant noise forced the tightening of existing laws. Currently, such parties are allowed only on Christmas and New Year's Eve. The local police are particularly vigilant during their conduct.

The menu of the numerous cafes and restaurants located on the coast necessarily includes several varieties of local beer, exotic liqueurs made from local fruits and, of course, fish and seafood dishes. You don't have to buy fruits - you can pick them directly from a nearby palm tree.

The beach season on Anjuna starts in November and ends in April. During the Christmas and New Year holidays, the flow of tourists increases many times. Most tourists are convinced that Anjuna Beach is not too good for swimming, but it is as safe as others. During the day, the situation on the beach is monitored by the rescue service. Diving, snorkeling and other water sports enthusiasts will find fascinating entertainment here. Elephant riding will be an enthusiastic pleasure for both adults and children. It is interesting to see the performances staged by snake charmers right on Anjuna Beach.

Every evening, tourists traditionally see off the sun. People in large groups sit on the shore, admire the stunning sea view at sunset and indulge in philosophical thoughts about life.
