Canyonlands
Canyonlands is one of the many US national parks in Utah. In the park, as a result of the effects of wind and water, numerous canyons and remains, amazing in beauty, formed.
Canyonlands is a very popular holiday destination, since 2007 at least 400 thousand people visit it annually. Among vacationers there are many cyclists, climbers, lovers of kayaking. The vast majority of tourists visit the Island in the Sky plateau, located between the Green and Colorado rivers. The upper plateau point is located at an altitude of 1828 meters, which allows you to explore almost all the surroundings of the national park. Park area 1366 km2 and conditionally divided into 4 districts: Island in the sky, Igly, Kanyon Podkov and Labyrinth. Each district has its own peculiarity.
In the Igla region you can see arches, spiers, canyons, caves. This area was so named because of white and red sandstone spiers. Thanks to the large number of paths, you can get to all the main attractions of Canyonlands Park. The most inaccessible area in the park is the Labyrinth, which occupies an area of 80 km2 and representing the piling of small canyons, crests and ravines. It’s hard to get here, so tourists here stay to study attractions for a few days. Nearby are the tower-stans: Doll House, Ernie Country, Grebni. In the Podkov canyon, you can see traces of the stay of the indigenous peoples of America, in particular the Anasazi tribe, who left numerous cave paintings, frescoes, pictograms. According to the analyzes, some drawings were made for 2000 BC.
Of no less interest is the animal world of Canyonlands Park, which has some currents of birds of 273 species, including hawks, eagles, teteretines, kanyuki, moons, woodpeckers, ravens, yeast, hawks, ducks, partridges. From mammals here you can meet bears, skunk, coyotes, moose, badgers, lynx, cougar, fox. It is worth noting that most animals lead a nightlife due to heat.
