Gamilton Gardens

In New Zealand, in the town of Hamilton, there is an amazingly beautiful garden located on the banks of the Vaikato River and covering an area of 54 hectares. These gardens are called botanical, but in fact it is a 21 garden, divided by the theme: art, religion, the traditions of decorating the garden of different countries.

Hamilton's garden began to develop in 1960, when 4 hectares were allocated for a public garden. In 1971, a rose garden was opened specifically for the first World Convention of Roses, in 1982 several more gardens were opened for the public, in which you could calmly walk along the tracks and admire the lake. The Rosary was named after the mayor of Hamilton - Denis Rogers, who made a lot of efforts to develop the garden. In the 1970s, they decided that Hamilton's gardens should be more than just a botanical garden. To do this, several funds have been opened to raise the necessary funds: a fund to create a rosary, a Chinese garden, a Japanese garden, an Indian garden, the Italian Renaissance garden, the Te Parapara garden and others.

Due to their beauty, the gardens of Hamilton won many awards and the hearts of visitors. Indeed, with the population of the city of 150 thousand of its people, more than a million visitors annually visit gardens per year, for which more than 2,000 different events are organized here. In 2014, gardens received the title "Garden of the Year" at the international conference of garden tourism.
