Frida Kahlo Museum

The Frida Kahlo Museum is located on one of the central streets of Mexico City - Londres Street. The house is a family house; it belonged to the Kahlo family for several decades; all important events in Frida’s life took place in this place. In the mid-20th century, the city authorities decided to transform the building into a museum dedicated to the world famous artist. For a long time, Frida lived with her husband Diego Rivera, who, like her, was a popular artist in Mexico.

Frida's husband, in addition to his artistic activities, was also a political figure. Thanks to this, fate brought him together with the Soviet revolutionary Leon Trotsky, who lived in this house for a long time. Later, Leon Trotsky moved to another house, which became his house-museum.

Visitors to the Frida Kahlo Museum can see several works by the artist, and several dozen personal items and belongings of her husband and Frida herself are stored here. One of the notable features of the attraction is that it houses a collection of statues from the Indian era. Many local residents call this house “blue”, this is due to the fact that the couple decided to repaint the house blue, which has remained to this day.
