Villa Balbianello
Villa Balbianello – is a luxury villa located on Lake Como, near the city of Lenno, which belongs to the National Fund of Italy. This wonderful architectural complex and decorative nature simply complement each other. Villa Balbianello was built back in 1787 in honor of Angelo Maria Durini.
Villa Villa Balbianello is very hospitable, as the phrase she meets guests says: « Do what you would like ». The territory of the estate is equipped with a magnificent square, which is a real decoration of this area. For several centuries in a row, the lake here is simply bewitched by its irresistibility. As for the architecture of this area, it merging with nature, simply staggers the imagination of mankind. Of course, this is the most romantic corner on the whole island of Como.
The founder of the complex himself, called this area « a place for pleasure ». He spent his time here with pleasure in the circle of friends, challenging another work of art. When the cardinal was not alive, the estate was bought by Giuseppe Arkonati Visconti, who ennobled the garden and also improved the loggia. After, several more owners of this attraction changed, who also changed and added something.
The last owner of the Ballbyanello villa was Guido Monzino, who bought it in 1974. To date, the interior of the estate is filled with the character traits of its last owner. After all, it was Guido, who led the expedition, who was able to gather here a wonderful collection of works that present us with African, Chinese, as well as other peoples of the world art. Within the walls of this noble house, he placed furniture in English and French styles, which dates back to 1700. On the local territory, he also organized a museum where he located his own, so close to his heart, souvenirs and various documents, brought from numerous expeditions. There is also a library.
The garden that surrounds Villa Balbianello is just the masterpiece of its owner. The territory of this island has rocky shores, so the owner could not swing as much as he would like. Therefore, seating new plant varieties, the cardinal was unable to preserve the features of the Italian garden. Thus, the local green part is simply unique, which is just a complement to the lake.
The villa on the island of Como was loved not only by ordinary tourists, but also by couples in love who choose this area for a commemorative wedding ceremony. This magnificent complex was also noticed by filmmakers who have repeatedly shot their famous shots here.
