Madidi National Park
In Bolivia, or rather in the northwestern part of it, there is a beautiful place called Madidi. This wonderful national park is located near the Amazon River, near the town of Rurrenabak. This reserve attracts increased attention from tourists with its rich world of animals and excellent vegetation.
Madidi National Park covers an area of 18,957 km2, which runs through mountains and forests, valleys and plains. It was founded in 1995 and is one of the most protected nature reserves in the world.
The reserve is home to a very large number of different animals such as cougar, spectacled bear, otter, wolf, jaguar and others. Birds, of which there are more than one thousand species, also feel good here.
There is a very diverse flora, which accommodates more than 4,500 varieties of plants. This region is often used as an example to describe the natural resources of the entire Amazon. The local variety of natural landscapes is also impressive.
As for the climate in the Madidi Nature Reserve, it is necessary to note its variability, depending on the area. In the area of the mountains, the coolness is well felt, but in the north, where there are mainly lowlands, it is warmer. The mountain range of the reserve protects this area from strong winds, which have almost no effect on the air temperature, which averages 26 degrees Celsius. It rains mainly from mid-autumn to early spring, but there is a drought from May to September.
There is an observation deck on one of the peaks of the Madidi Park Mountain, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the wonderful wild places. But in order to get to the place for inspection, it is necessary to walk as many as five kilometers of the protected area.
The charming wild world, the richest nature and magnificent landscapes are the main reasons why travelers overcome the difficult path to the reserve of Bolivia.
Of course, you can hike to Madidi Park on your own, but it's still better to get a good guide with whom you won't get lost and learn a lot of new and interesting things. An excursion tour can be booked in any direction of the park, which usually lasts from two to seven days.
Madidi National Park has been repeatedly exposed to dangers. For example, they wanted to build a hydroelectric power station here, which they planned to place on the Beni River. If this project had been implemented, then a large area of the reserve would simply have been under water, along with its population, as well as natural attractions.
For a long time, Rosa Maria Ruiz, who founded the Eco Bolivia organization to save the natural world, fought for the salvation of the Madidi Reserve. It was this association that played a major role in the creation of the reserve in Bolivia.
