Wat Rong Khun

Beautiful Thailand never ceases to amaze us with its sights. Chiang Rai Province, namely the town of Amphuar, is famous among tourists for its amazing beauty with a temple called Wat Rong Khun, which is known as the White Temple. This lily-like beauty has been created by Thailand's most famous artist Chalermchai Kositpipat for 11 years. In his work, he successfully combines the traditions of Thai culture, as well as excellent Thai art.

Not all of the artist's ideas have been realized yet, and work is actively underway in the halls, as well as on the territory of Rong Kun. The artist brings his ideas to life on his own, and does not take money from those who want to help in order to remain independent. Chalermchai Kositpipat has already spent a considerable amount of savings on the construction of the White Temple. Wat Rong Khun has an incredibly beautiful view. Its snow-white, elegant walls and roof are decorated with patterns with mirror inserts that shimmer in the sunlight. The color of the temple is not just white, but is a sign of the purity of the Buddha, the brilliance that radiates from the shining glass is his wisdom that shines all over the planet. This building can only be compared to the palace where the Snow Queen lives.

The inner halls of the temple are decorated with sculptures, as well as paintings, there are images of the Buddha. One of the walls is painted with animals, symbolizing the four elements. The composition, located at the central entrance of Wat Rong Khun, looks great, which is a circle around the perimeter of which the sculptor placed teeth, and in the middle there are many writhing arms stretched up. With this composition, the artist wants to convey the real hell, which, in his opinion, looks exactly like this. The main building of the temple is surrounded by a pond where old fish are bred.

Wat Rong Khun

The idea of Wat Rong Khun is to create a wonderful center for learning and meditation, headed, of course, by the supreme Buddha. It is planned to place nine buildings on the territory of about three hectares, including a museum, a library, a gallery, a monastery, and a chapel. Of course, the temple does not have a finished look, but it is already one of the most recognizable attractions in Thailand, and is also very popular among tourists.

To visit Wat Rong Khun, it is necessary to wear dresses and skirts that cover the legs, and men should not be on the temple grounds in short shorts. But if you are traveling in Thailand in clothes that are not suitable for a temple visit, then do not worry, you will be given special trousers and skirts of the appropriate length at the entrance. Wat Rong Khun does not require money for admission, but tourists visiting this temple can donate to its development, or purchase a beautiful painting by a famous artist who is the inventor of this snow-white complex. There are souvenir shops near the temple, as well as cafes where you can have lunch.
